Director and screenwriter specialized in Fiction Directing at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Tv (Cuba) and graduated in Film and Audiovisual at the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC/Brazil). The thesis “Soberane” won the Pardino D’oro for best international short film at the 75th Locarno Film Festival. The short film “Quem te deu nome?” (“Who gave you a name?”) was nominated for best film at FESSALP 20Wara is a director and screenwriter specializing in Fiction Direction at the International Film and Television School (EICTV-Cuba) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Film and Audiovisual Studies from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC/Brazil). Selected for the Director’s Factory Program, he co-directed the short film “A Fera do Mangue” (A Beast in the Mangrove) which premiered at Director’s Fortnight during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. His thesis “Soberane” won the Pardino D’oro for best international short film at the 75th Locarno Festival, in the Pardi di Domani section, and received an Honorable Mention at the 5th Amazon Film Festival. His short film “Mulheres Árvore” (2022) premiered at the 24th Rio Film Festival. The short film “Quem te deu nome?” was nominated for best film at FESAALP 2021 in the Videominuto category. The feature film project “Quem deu nome à Terra?” (Who named the Earth?) participated in Torino Film Lab Next (2023), Cinéma en Développement at the 36th Cinélatino Toulouse (2023), and was selected for Pop Up Film Residency (2023) at the 12th BrLab (2022).
