Hakan does not want to brazil, but he does not know how to tell lissy that he cannot offer her the life they have begun to dream of outside of cuba. hakan grapples with his indecision when lissy discovers that he has kept a chance to get off the island from him. with no other options to stay, hakan must accept that he is no longer the same person in order to return home.
